This is Jan Harwood, a very happy grandma of three sweet girls, living in Santa Cruz with my garden, my dog, Annie, and four fine cats. I’m also a disgruntled and not easily pacified old woman, who wants to see this disordered world rearranged in much better shape! We Raging Grannies would do a lot better than the current bunch of republicrats; we’ve been around long enough to know what’s really needed and what’s not, and we would lean much farther left than the current crop would find comfortable, politically–but they would undoubtedly find life much more fair and pleasant, physically and morally.
We’d make sure everybody had enough to eat; adequate health care; a place to live, a job if they wanted one; good schools, with an emphasis on art, music and creativity of mind and hands; we’d point out at every opportunity that kindness and fairness works better than pain and terror. The current emphasis on money and power, which we think is the ruination of the world, would just dry up and blow away.
So that’s the gospel put forth by the singing, peaceful Raging Grannies, with our songs and colorful clothes, anywhere and everywhere we get the opportunity to blossom forth. Look for us–we’re legion!
And stay tuned for a lot of good song lyrics . . . .
