The First Warm Day 3/8/17

Low against deep sky-blue
a crisp white gull glides purposefully
behind a jungle-gym of dark branches
highlighting tiny lime-green leaves.
Below, a hundred women in knitted hats with ears
listen to Bettina lay out
what we must do.
